While the Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 comprises of an ultrathin Comfort Curve keyboard and rechargeable mouse, the Digital Media Keyboard 3000 comes with a mouse only. The keyboards have floating Hot Keys and instant access to Windows Flip 3D functionality.

Based on the enhanced wireless technology offering 2.4GHz frequency, the Comfort Curve designed 7000 keyboard includes a smoked translucent border, one-touch access to users’ most-used websites, files and folders; and 6-degree curve ability for natural positioning. The rechargeable mouse has a horizontal charging station for a sturdy base, a battery status indicator and the ability to decrease the battery consumption by up to 80 percent over three years of use.

In addition, it also comes with an intelligent technology ‘hops’ frequency when it encounters interference and ensures to be a perfect device at the time of crowded wireless environments with multiple computers. It works up to 30 feet away from the transceiver and can also be plugged into the transceivers with ease to start the operations.

Carla Forester, group marketing manager at Microsoft, maintained “This keyboard is a perfect example of Microsoft’s focus on connecting its hardware with Windows Vista, bringing the elegance of Windows Aero to the keyboard. The Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 truly brings the best of both worlds together — a beautiful design and a full suite of productivity features — making it the best option for customers desiring a sophisticated accessory for their computer.”

Besides, the company also introduced the Digital Media Keyboard 3000, which includes just a keyboard. It sports one-touch access to photos, Windows Media Player, My Favorites Keys and Zoom. This sleek, thin keyboard is also compatible with Windows Vista and provides quick access to Flip 3D and the Windows Start Button.

Microsoft’s Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 is slated to hit the US market by April 2008 at the suggested price of $129.95 (approx. Rs. 6200), whereas the Digital Media Keyboard 3000 will be out in stores in June 2008 for $29.95 (approx. Rs. 1200). However, the Wireless Laser Desktop7000 and Digital Media Keyboard 3000 are immediately available by special pre-sale on Amazon.com and are expected to start shipping in April and June respectively.
