Softbank intros 1Seg TV Tuner and Battery Charger for iPhone
Japanese network operator Softbank introduces the external 1Seg TV and battery charger for the Apple iPhone.
Weighing 80 g and measuring 50 x 85 x 16mm, the iPhone accessory is said to work on Wi-Fi to transmit video to a special application which is salted to release on the App Store. With this unique functionality, users will get access to 1seg broadcasts on the iPhone.
Users can easily slide the 1Seg TV tuner in the pocket or a bag while watching the TV through an over-the-air digital TV broadcast network which eliminates the irritating physical plugging of a Tuner to the iPhone.
The 1Seg TV tuner includes a battery, which provides a USB battery pack to charge the iPhone as well as the tuner. With this battery charger, users are well-assured that they will receive a continuous three hours of battery life on a single charge while watching TV.
Softbank plans to roll out the 1Seg TV tuner and battery pack for iPhone in mid December with a price tag of $102 (approx. Rs. 4,866).
