Logitech Harmony 1000 Remote Control launched in India
Logitech’s Harmony 1000 remote is here, with its great looking, color touch-sensitive screen.
As mentioned before, Logitech’s Harmony 1000 remote has the touch-sensitive screen ability that makes the popular Harmony activity control even simpler by displaying the significant controls when they are immediately relevant. In addition, it also has the capability of controlling any device with an infrared receiver – including VCRs, digital video recorders, high-definition televisions, and many household appliances. Thanks to the applied radio frequency (RF) technology, the Harmony 1000 remote can also control multi-room entertainment systems and high-end components hidden behind closed doors, when used in combination with the optional Logitech Harmony Wireless Extender (sold separately).
“The Logitech Harmony 1000 remote delivers affordable luxury – it simplifies control of today’s complicated home-entertainment systems at a fraction of the price of traditional custom-installed remotes, and it’s luxurious in its sophisticated design, which adds an element of prestige to any living room,” stated Moninder Jain, Director, India and South East Asia, Logitech. “The Harmony 1000 remote is the interface that people crave for their home-entertainment system – it’s sleek, it’s easy to use with its one-touch activity based control, and it comes without a prohibitive price.”
The brushed-chrome and piano-black finished Harmony 1000 remote features a 3.5-inch color screen which displays 1000 icons associated with entertainment activities like Watch TV, Watch a Movie, Listen to Music, or Play Games. Simply by one touch of any of these icons, the entire home-entertainment system translates itself into a perfect enjoyment device.
Once an activity is clicked, the remote’s screen displays the controls required especially for the activity, as against most conventional universal remotes with a number of rarely used fixed buttons that are often more confusing than useful. For instance, whilst watching TV using a digital video recorder (DVR), users will see on screen the standard skip forward, skip back, record and pause buttons necessary to controlling a DVR. However when they are listening to CDs, they will see the track controls they need to navigate their music. On the other hand, the Harmony 1000 remote has only nine fixed buttons – including volume up and down, channel up and down, and a directional navigation pad – basic controls used for most activities, which are located on the right-hand side of the remote. With built-in rechargeable batteries, the remote also comes with a convenient and stylish charging stand, discarding the need to replace batteries and offering a base so that everyone knows where to find the remote. When the remote is fully charged, it can give around one week of power, depending upon how heavy the use.
The patented Smart State Technology is used in the Logitech Harmony 1000 remote, which delivers powerful activity-based control, enabling the remote to track the operations of the various components it controls. With this technology, Harmony remote users can smoothly alternate between watching home theater and listening to music by selecting a single activity button.
The online interface has been revamped, in order to make the Harmony Internet setup extremely simple. The wizard then helps people define the different entertainment activities and recognize the entertainment components used for each activity.
Rashi Peripherals is the official distributors of the Logitech Harmony Universal Remotes in India. It is available for Rs 27, 995/- and comes with a 1-year replacement warranty.
