The HTC One SV release date is out now through Cricket Wireless, as well as its price, and interested users in the US will have to wait until January 16 to lay hands on the device. Belonging to the One series from the Taiwanese manufacturer, this smartphone’s 4G LTE variant has already made its debut in the UK.

The One SV is compatible with the carrier’s 4G LTE network, but it can be purchased along with a 3G rate plan too. It tips the scales at 122 grams when weighed along with the battery and comes encased in an exterior with dimensions of 128 x 66.9 x 9.20 millimeters. The sleek device houses a 4.3-inch super LCD-2 touchscreen on the front panel, with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating on top for resisting scrapes and scratches in case of accidental drops. It can render clear visuals in 480 x 800p resolution.

Furthermore, the intuitive and user-friendly interface of this smartphone can be attributed to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS which works in conjunction with the HTC Sense 4 UI. It acquires multitasking properties from a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that can clock in a maximum speed of 1.2GHz. The HTC handset tags along 1GB of DDR2 RAM and 8GB of internal storage in addition to an expansion slot for a microSD card to increase it further.

It is armed with a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash, a BSI sensor, a 28mm lens and the ability to record HD 1080p videos. A 1.6MP 720p webcam with a dedicated HTC ImageChip sits on the front side to facilitate web conferencing. The primary camera also boasts of other functions like video stabilization, continuous shooting, slow motion recording, Smart Flash and VideoPic.

The Beat Audio-enabled handset is compliant with micro SIM cards and arrives with built-in GPS, a digital compass, a G-sensor, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. It sports a 3.5mm headphone jack and features Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n for establishing connections to audio peripherals, wireless data transfer and internet connection through hotspots, respectively. A 1800mAh lithium-ion battery has been embedded in the phone too.

The HTC One SV smartphone’s off-contract price is $349.99 (approx. Rs. 19,275) with 3G or 4G LTE plans starting at $50 per month. It will be available from January 16 through company-owned retail stores, the official Cricket Wireless website or authorized dealers.
