All those who have been waiting to binge on Ice Cream Sandwich are in for a treat as Amazon has slashed the price of the Verizon Wireless variant of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone. The device is now available through the e-retailer for $99.99.

This offer from Amazon is valid only for new customers and it will require a two-year agreement, reports Android Central. The Android 4.0 platform based device runs on the carrier’s 4G LTE network and lends support to HTML5 for a faster web browsing experience. It acquires multitasking properties from a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB RAM.

The Galaxy Nexus with dimensions of 5.1 x 2.7 x 0.5 inches, flaunts a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch display of 1280 x 720p resolutions. Its 5MP rear facing snapper possesses attributes such as auto focus, LED flash, zero shutter lag and records high definition 720p videos. Additionally, it is also armed with a front facing 1.3MP camera for video conferencing over the internet. The phone with an onboard memory of 32GB, coughs up the juice for talk time of about 12 hours.

The Ice Cream Sandwich platform brings an array of features to this Google offering. Besides an improved and intuitive user interface, it is inclusive of Face Unlock for added security as well Android Beam and NFC capabilities for quick data transfer on compatible devices. It communicates wirelessly through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and acts as a mobile hotspot to share its 4G LTE network with about 10 gadgets.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus price is $99.99 (approx. Rs. 4,970) and it is now available through Amazon.
