The HTC Butterfly, apparently the international version of the J Butterfly and its US-bound variant the Droid DNA, has surfaced on the company’s global website. The flagship device that boasts of some high-end features does not have an official release date and its price details have also not been given a mention.
While the OEM hasn’t announced the handset as yet, its product page was spotted on the web portal by evleaks. The HTC phone flaunts an eye-pleasing chassis that is constructed using the stacking methodology for a firm grip. It measures 143 x 70.5 x 9.08 millimeters and tips the scales at 140 grams, when weighed along with the battery.
The key highlight of the smartphone is a 5-inch super LCD 3 multi-touch display that can render impressive full HD visuals in 1920 x 1080p resolution. A Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating on top ensures that the touchscreen is protected from scrapes and scratches. The phone’s internal working is carried out under the supervision of a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that ticks at 1.5GHz. It is accompanied by 2GB of RAM.
The Butterfly serves Android Jelly Bean 4.1 with the latest version of HTC Sense and ships with 16GB of internal memory. An expansion slot is in place for allowing users to insert a microSD card which can hoard digital content of up to 32GB capacity. It is compatible with mobile networks like WCDMA, HSPA, GPRS, EDGE and GSM.
Furthermore, this GPS-enabled handset utilizes Beats Audio and is equipped with dual cameras. A 2.1MP webcam with a dedicated ImageChip is fitted on the front panel to facilitate video recording and web conferencing, while an 8MP auto focus snapper with LED flash, a BSI sensor and a 28mm lens, lays claim over the flip side. It can even record videos in 1080p resolution.
