Apple iPhone 4S to enter China, 21 other countries on January 13

Finally, the Apple iPhone 4S has geared up to set its foot in the Chinese market, about three months after it was unleashed in the U.S. The latest generation iPhone will also be released in 21 other countries including Kenya, Uganda, Madagascar, Dominican Republic, Mauritius, Bolivia, Ecuador and more on January 13.

Besides the above mentioned countries, the iPhone 4S will toddle into the British Virgin Islands, Antigua, Anguilla, Dominica, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Tobago, Trinidad, Turks and Caicos. Users in Botswana, Cayman Islands, Cameroon, Guam, St. Vincent, Grenada, Niger, Barbuda, Ivory Coast, The Grenadines, Senegal, Jamaica and Central African Republic can also lay their hands on the device, next week.

“Customer response to our products in China has been off the charts. With the launch in China next week, iPhone 4S will be available in over 90 countries making this our fastest iPhone rollout ever,” informed Tim Cook, CEO of Apple.

The smartphone acquires its multitasking properties from the company’s exclusive dual core A5 chip that also claims to offer faster performance along with discrete graphics. The latest iOS 5 platform deployed in the device is said to bestow the phone with over 200 new features. And its key highlight is the Siri software, an intelligent assistant that is capable of understanding natural conversation to make calls, send text messages and more.

Available in shades of black and white, the Apple iPhone 4S price tag reads $199 (approx. Rs. 10,500) for the 16GB variant in the U.S, while the 32GB and 64GB variants are priced at $299 (approx. Rs. 15,750) and $399 (approx. Rs. 21,020), respectively. It can be purchased via Apple Online and retail stores as well as other authorized resellers along with a two-year customer agreement.
