Samsung Galaxy Nexus 01

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now offering the ‘pure Google’ experience through Mobilicity in Canada, four days before the device was expected to be rolled out through the network provider. The carrier had previously announced February 6 as the release date of the phone, but it was made available through Mobilicity stores yesterday itself.

This Android Ice Cream Sandwich-running smartphone lets users launch multiple applications at once, with the assistance of a 1.2GHz dual core processor. The Samsung handset flaunts a huge 4.65-inch high definition capacitive multi-touch screen featuring Super AMOLED display technology that produces clear visuals in 720p resolutions.

The Android 4.0 platform bestows the device with advanced features like Face Unlock and Android Beam and its NFC certification facilitates faster file transfer through a single tap on a compatible device. Needless to mention, it provides access to the Android Market and extends support to various Google Mobile Services inclusive of Gmail, Google Maps 5.0, Google Earth and Google+ amongst others.

And if that’s not all, users also stand a chance to win a Galaxy Nexus and six months of unlimited service through a Facebook-based contest called the Mobile Kiss Cam to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus price is tagged at $599.99 (approx. Rs. 29,370). It is available sans annual contracts through select Mobilicity stores across Canada. The Samsung Bluetooth headset worth $39.99, will be offered with the phone for a limited period of time.
