Samsung Wave 3 smartphone to go globetrotting this year

The South Korean giant has augmented its Wave series with the addition of the Samsung Wave 3 smartphone which is deployed with the company’s bada OS. The device will arrive in France followed by Germany, Italy, Russia and other global markets.

The stylish smartphone measuring 125.9 x 64.2 x 9.9 millimeters, comes enclosed in a 9.9mm thin anodized brushed aluminum chassis. It is fueled by a 1.4GHz processor and 512MB RAM while it operates with the bada 2.0 platform which lets users enjoy 3D games on the handset. This operating system teams up with the Touchwiz UX to offer an intuitive user interface that allows personalization as well as executes multiple functions at once.

The Samsung Wave 3 smartphone’s front panel sports a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED multi-touch display alongside a front-facing VGA webcam to facilitate online video conferencing. The rear-facing 5MP camera with autofocus and built-in LED flash can be utilized to shoot high definition videos besides still shots. Deployed with compass, accelerometer along with proximity and light sensors, this device with 4GB onboard memory supports SD card of capacities up to 32GB.

It possesses multimedia attributes such as audio and video players which support formats including mp3, wma, wav, aac, mpeg4, divX and more. The wireless communication features of the device are inclusive of EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HSDPA 14.4Mbps connectivity. And what’s more, it is pre-installed with applications like ChatON, Social Hub, Music Hub, Polaris Office and more. The GPS certified phone draws power from a 1,500mAh Li-ion battery, providing talktime of around 430 hours.

The Samsung Wave 3 smartphone is commercially available in France and will hit markets in Germany, Italy and Russia before the end of this year.
