Nokia 700, 701 and Nokia 600 NFC-ready smartphones released in India

An event held yesterday in Mumbai, India saw the launch of Symbian Belle operated, Nokia 700, 701 and 600 as the NFC-ready smartphones. This event also marked Nokia’s association with Ra.One, making Red Chillies production the first to be marketed through NFC.
Nokia aims to provide NFC-equipped devices for it wants the NFC ecosystem to evolve which in turn will aid the company to proffer added value to the user’s experience. With Google Wallet reflecting what NFC enabled devices are capable of, conglomerates have taken a turn into that direction and Nokia marks its steps with the launch of 700, 701 and 600, in India.
Commenting on the launch, D Shivakumar, Managing Director, Nokia India shares, “The Indian smartphone market is growing at an exponential rate. Consumers today are looking for differentiators that go beyond multi-tasking and processor speed. With our latest range of smartphones on Symbian Belle, we are introducing a path-breaking technology in the form of ‘Just Tap’ with NFC. Today, our association with Ra.One brings alive an exciting set of experiences on NFC with Symbian Belle for our consumers.”
While the Nokia 700 is a compact touch screen monoblock smartphone, the company claims that its 701 possesses the brightest mobile display. On the other hand, the Nokia 600 is brought out for those who prefer loud entertainment options. Nokia’s alliance with Ra.One will allow these smartphone users to obtain exclusive Ra.One content from OVi store or they can access it by simply visiting the nearest NPP and tap the NFC enabled devices with the movie’s NFC tags.
Nokia 600, 700 and 701 can be obtained in India at a price of Rs. 12,999, Rs. 18,099 and Rs. 18,999, respectively. While Nokia 600 and 700 will become purchasable next month, Nokia 701 is currently available across the country.
