Nokia 100 and 101 cost-effective phones arrive

Nokia 100 And 101The Nokia 100 and 101 single and dual-SIM phones were recently released for selected markets in Africa and Asia. Since the consumer base in these regions is said to prioritiz cost efficiency, the Finnish company says that it has come up with these phones which apparently provide basic functionalities at an affordable rate.

Running on the Series 30 mobile operating system, these phones can support up to five separate address books and store personalization details for five different SIM cards. They are capable of offering talk time and standby time of up to 6.7 hours and around 25 days, respectively.

The 101 happens to possess an MP3 player and comes with a headset and support for dual-SIM. It can also accommodate support for memory cards up to 16GB to store more than 1,000 songs. Equipped with an in-built flashlight, the handsets’ display presents a grid-based system of icons which is said to aid people in using them more conveniently.

These devices come with the FM radio functionality and preloaded games along with 3.5mm AV connectors for users to attach them to speakers. The phones will come incorporated with Nokia Life Tools that lets users receive market information, weather forecasts, health advice, language tuition and entertainment news to an on-board app via special text messages, in select markets.

The Nokia 101 phone priced at €25 (approx. Rs. 1,662), is scheduled to be available from this quarter, while the 100 model which comes with a price tag of €20 (approx. Rs. 1,329) will go on sale in the next one for selected markets. These prices are exclusive of local taxes and operator subsidies.
