Nokia C3-01 Gold Edition The stylish and elegant Nokia C3-01 Gold Edition phone was launched yesterday. It is basically the Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type in a gleaming 18-carat gold plating form with a ceramic-feel keymat and a matching theme.

A year earlier, Nokia had released its original Series 40 based C3-01 Touch and Type which was a simple phone meant for the basic needs of calling and messaging devoid of numerous technicalities or functionalities. The company however believes that its new and reinvented luxury phone version of the same handset besides including the advanced technology takes the ante a notch up with its design.

The Nokia C3-01 handset possesses Nokia Messaging for email and IM functionality and Nokia Communities for checking into Facebook and Twitter. It is capable of providing up to HSDPA data speeds along with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This sophisticated phone offers quadband radio to users while running on a 1GHz processor.

Equipped with a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen, the device embeds a 5MP camera with flash and incorporates support for up to 32GB memory through a microSD card. Its Nokia Series 40 browser apparently delivers speedy access to the web sans high data use charges. Measuring 111mm x 47.5mm x 11mm, the phone weighs 100g and presents users numerable apps and games through the Ovi Store.

The Nokia C3-01 Gold Edition has been designed exclusively for Eastern European and Middle Eastern markets and has been priced at €220 (approx. Rs. 14,510) excluding local taxes or operator subsidies. It has started shipping in selected markets and will extend to more in the coming weeks.
