Æsir Yves Béhar phone to ship with €7,250 price tag

Mobile phone markets the world over are accustomed to shipping ostentatious designer handsets with hefty price tags. Æsir has unveiled its first handset dubbed Yves Béhar costing a whopping €7,250 (approx Rs. 4,57,955).

The designer gizmo comes in two versions, namely 316L stainless steel and 18 carat yellow gold. People wanting to lay their hands on the golden variant will have to shell out €42,000 (approx Rs. 26,52,769).

These handsets encompass 2” TFT screens and boast of edge-to-edge key designs. Additionally, each device features laser-micro-engraved and lacquered keypad characters with LED backlighting. The phones host other basic features like Bluetooth and GSM 850/900/1800/1900 network connectivity amongst others.

Both gadgets come equipped with support for up to eight languages, while the included Sony battery ensures talk time up to 5.2 hours and standby time of around 220 hours. Æsir has signed on Chris Minh Doky to compose ringtones and sounds for these mobile devices.

Slated to be produced in limited quantities, the two editions of this handset are expected to ship across Hong Kong, Mainland China, the U.S. by fall of this year. The EU region can avail of the Yves Béhar during summer.
