Samsung Galaxy Note drops into India

Creating a buzz around the globe for the past few days, the Samsung Galaxy Note was released today for India at a press event held in Mumbai today . The company had confirmed a Europe launch in November, but India was not featured on top of the launch list.

By now, the Galaxy Note is most known for two of its features, the massive touchscreen and the accompanying stylus which Samsung more fondly calls the S Pen. The device sports a face of 5.3 inches, which is claimed to be the largest in the world and it’s garnished with HD Super AMOLED display technology. The S Pen fits in the handset when not in use, and can otherwise be used to sketch, doodle, and more.

On the technical front, the device is armed with a 1.4GHz dual core processor, the Gingerbread operating system, 16GB internal storage, a microSD card slot which expands the external memory up to 32GB and a lot more. It also shoots 1080p full HD videos on the rear facing 8Mp camera, while video calling is supported by a 2MP front facing one.

For India, the Samsung Galaxy Note price tag reads Rs. 34,990.
