Snapshots of HTC Thunderbolt spring up in Verizon press images

Verizon HTC Thunderbolt

Looks like, the smartphone market seems to be fascinated with more than one name for various devices. First it was the HTC Speedy/Knight or what we now call the EVO Shift 4G and now it’s this HTC handset. In an exclusive by Droid Life, a complete set of 12 high-definition photos of the HTC Thunderbolt (also known as Incredible HD or Mecha) have been put up sporting Verizon Wireless logo.

Claimed to be the first 4G LTE smartphone via the network operator, this alleged device might be unveiled at CES 2011. The handset stands still on all the snaps and showcases its different angles for a better view. Interestingly, it flaunts remarkable similarity with the HTC Desire HD but this device comes with 4G capability.

The back of the handset is adorned with Google’s co-branding logo which suggests an Android operating system. With Gingerbread already uncovered for multiple devices, this one may move ahead to the Honeycomb OS. However, there’s no official word about any such revealing as yet.
