LG Electronics brings to the forefront a brand new Android-powered handset fashioned for first-time smartphone users. The company provides them with the LG Optimus smartphone packed with a variety of features and handy attributes. It offers customers a wide selection of Android applications and enhanced social networking functions.

The LG Optimus enables automatic account synchronization with Google Mobile services such as Gmail, Gtalk, Google Maps and YouTube. Their smartphone experience can be further heightened with over 30,000 downloadable games and applications plucked right out from the Android Market. Users can seamlessly manage multiple social networking accounts through the integrated SN Manager.

All their Twitter, Facebook and Bebo accounts can also be accessed via the Social Networking Client. The Social Networking System widgets display all the real-time status updates on the home screen itself. The highly customizable user interface has the ability to show three to seven home screens for applications that are often used like news and weather. Consumers can also personalize the main menu to incorporate up to 10 editable categories.

Besides housing these innovative options, the LG Optimus also includes and advanced media player which enables customers to view DivX and Xvid videos while also surfing through multimedia files with the 3D thumbnail gallery. It also features a 3MP camera complete with auto face-tagging, geo-tagging and face-to-action technology as well as an integrated video editor with storyboard function.

LG also endows its latest smartphone with a unique soft and chic appearance and can be acquired in two hues namely silver and black. It also features a 3.5mm headphone jack, 1500mAh battery, Bluetooth 2.1 capability, 32GB of expandable microSD memory and assisted GPS. The handset also includes four customisable home screen themes with idle lock screen notifications.

The LG Optimus Android-powered smartphone is scheduled to hit the UK by May 1, 2010. No word yet on the official pricing details of the handset.
