Sony Ericsson to offer HD capable Vivaz phone

Sony Ericsson has announced the new communication entertainment phone dubbed Vivaz, in the Indian market. This new phone is all set to enhance communication with its HD capability, enabling users to produce and broadcast video capture and sharing abilities.

The device can capture as well as record spontaneous moments in HD quality with crisp high resolution for a realistic video experience. Its 8.1 megapixel camera packs in advanced functionalities such as Face and Smile detection. The Vivaz also features Sony Ericsson’s Media Player. Users can review video content in the standby panel or online on its 3.2-inch widescreen using Wi-Fi. They can also upload content onto YouTube and Picasa via Wi-Fi.

“User-generated content, especially video, is exploding on the web,” said Peter Ang, Vice President Marketing, Asia Pacific Region, Sony Ericsson. “With Sony Ericsson Vivaz, we have created a mobile phone that captures spontaneous moments in high quality video and upload that self expression onto the web to share with the world. Sony Ericsson Vivaz offers beauty inside and out with an open and intuitive user experience allowing consumers to capture, view and share their lives and spontaneity in HD quality.”

Following the Xperia X10, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz features the similar design philosophy of “human curvature”. The design mirrors the shape of the human body and delivers compelling phone interaction. With the open platform, users can personalize their entertainment experience by downloading applications via PlayNow and the Symbian Developer Community.

The phone supports UMTS HSPA 900/2100 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 850/1900/2100 and EDGE 850/900/1800/1900. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz lets users pick among Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue and Venus Ruby colors. It will be available in India during Q1 of 2010.
