Samsung Messager Touch handset hits US Cellular

Mobile phone lovers who don’t like the name can still refer to this next offering by its model number U.S. Cellular has picked up the Samsung Messager Touch a.k.a SCH-r630 full touchscreen phone to add to its line-up of handset offerings.
The device flaunts a 2.6” touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. It employs the company’s TouchWiz interface that is cited to allow smooth navigation between its various functions. This gadget is fitted with a 2MP camera and video recorder along with a built-in music and video player.
“The Samsung Messager Touch is an exciting new addition to our messaging line-up,” enthused Ed Perez, VP, marketing and sales for U.S. Cellular. “It’s a very cool phone, and our customers can add their personal touch by customizing the functions.”
The Samsung Messager Touch is equipped with a speakerphone, voice recognition software and allows for three-way calling as well as one-touch dialing. It comes embedded with a widget tray that stores widgets which are used most frequently. It accommodates 16GB microSD memory and is Bluetooth-enabled.
With easyedge services, users can download games, social networking applications and wallpapers onto this device. The SCH-r630 is powered by a Li-ion battery that lasts for about 5 hours. The dimensions of this handset are 2.1” X 4.1” X 0.5” and it weighs approximately 3.8oz.
The Samsung Messager Touch SCH-r630 will be available through U.S. Cellular retail and online stores. It is priced at $49.95 (approx. Rs.2,340).
