Samsung Galaxy S is now DivX HD certified Android-powered smartphone

Samsung Galaxy S Lately, there’s been a lot of tumult around the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. Just a day after the news of Corning Gorilla glass getting incorporated into the handset was reported, DivX and Samsung have announced that the Galaxy S handset is now DivX certified for HD video playback at 720p resolution.

Multimedia enthusiasts can now enjoy watching movies and videos at 720p resolution on its 4-inch super AMOLED display. Stunning 3D graphics are delivered with its 1GHz processor which enables quicker download and upload.

“Samsung continues to launch feature-rich devices packed with innovative technologies. By obtaining DivX HD certification of our new Android-powered multimedia smart phone, we’re giving our customers the freedom to enjoy their DivX videos up to 720p at home and on the go,” shared Younghee Lee, Senior Vice President, Samsung Electronics.

Access to more than 70,000 applications is rendered with the Galaxy S since it is powered by Android. With up to 32GB expandable memory, users can fill their Samsung device with standard definition as well as HD movies. Just to notify, DivX technology fabricates highly compressed videos which require minimum storage and proffers high-quality media experience on a mobile platform.

Interestingly, users can directly connect their Samsung Galaxy S smartphone to other DivX certified devices, like HDTVs, transforming it to work as a mobile set-top box. A secure playback of popular Hollywood titles in the DivX format from leading studios is ensured by the handset.

The Galaxy S is said to be the first ever Android mobile phone which is DivX certified for HD. Galaxy S owners can now view content in HD format while on the move with the help of this device.
