Nokia expands its TD-SCDMA market by uncloaking Nokia X5 phone

Nokia X5Nokia loyalists in China looking forward for a new phone can lay their hands on this one. Nokia augments its TD-SCDMA market by coming up with a new phone namely the Nokia X5. This mobile is deigned for China Mobile.

This new phone confirms the existence of a joint mobile application store mainly the Mobile Market-Ovi Store. The handset enables users to connect to the internet by means of China Mobile’s super fast 3G network. A few pre-installed apps such as CMCC Music, Mobile Video, Fetion IM, and the Mobile Market-Ovi Store are also seen in the device.

Chris Leong, Senior Vice President, Greater China, Korea & Japan, commented, “Nokia is boosting its leadership in the TD-SCDMA market by strengthening its TD-SCDMA portfolio with products that appeal to a wide range of customers at a range of price points. After the milestone collaboration with China Mobile on the Mobile Market-Ovi Store, we also continue to offer new and stylish devices to satisfy our consumers.”

The Nokia X5 looks pretty appealing with its iconic design. The phone seems to be designed for music buffs by offering an awesome music experience. It is claimed to be the company’s premier TD-SCDMA Symbian entertainment device and is packed in with a dedicated music key and effortless access to CMCC music. The handset is splashed in three vivid colors like black, white and red.

The phone boasts of a 5.0MP camera with dual LED flash and video recording facilities. The handset sports a 2.4-inch QVGA 16M color TFT display. Some of the features include MM-Ovi store along with mobile video, Fetion IM, and Mobile Map/Navigation. The entertainment experience is boosted due to pre-installed opulent attributes.

The Nokia X5 would be accessible in China in the second quarter of 2010. The phone would be unveiled at the World Expo Shanghai 2010. The cost of the phone is currently under wraps.
