DivX HD certification comes to Samsung Wave
Samsung and DivX have announced DivX certification for the Samsung Wave. The Wave has been designed according to Samsung’s smartphone platform ‘bada’. Users can view videos at a resolution of 720p.
Apart from the Wave, Samsung and DivX have also joined hands for its next venture namely, Samsung Galaxy S. Galaxy is said to be an innovation in the range of Android phones, sporting a 4-inch AMOLED screen and lighting fast processor performance.
“Samsung Electronics has shown consistent innovation in the mobile space, turning out high-quality phones that offer a cutting-edge user experience,” commented Kevin Hell, CEO of DivX, Inc. “We’re extremely pleased to further our partnership with Samsung to include the world’s first phones capable of playing back stunning DivX HD video across these revolutionary mobile platforms.”
While Younghee Lee, Vice President of Samsung’s Mobile Communications business, exclaimed that Samsung was very excited to have become the first manufacturer to offer DivX Certified mobile phones to consumers in 2007, and following through the partnership they have evolved the mobile video experience.
The certification goes to show that the Samsung phones have been put through a series of severe tests to guarantee a high quality DivX media experience, inclusive of reliable video creation and playback, inter-changeability with other DivX-certified equipment and utmost visual quality as expected by users.
The two phones, Samsung Wave and Samsung Galaxy S will be showcased at the CTIA Wireless Show 2010.
