Sony Ericsson lands with six handsets for Indian market

Not long after launching the ‘Fab 5′ portfolio of phones back in March, Sony Ericsson is back with half a dozen more. Sony Ericsson showed off six mobile phones that include the Xperia X8, the Greenheart Cedar, Greenheart Aspen as also the Yendo, Spiro and Zylo Walkman series handsets at a press event in Mumbai, India. Xperia users may also gear up for a software update to Android 2.1 as well as HD video functionality and DLNA support before 2011.
The Xperia X8 is equipped with a 3.2MP camera and powered by the Android OS. It integrates Timescape technology and lets users filter communication and images through one click of the infinite button. Users can also access their personal and corporate e-mails apart from Facebook and Twitter accounts with this device.

The Aspen runs on the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 platform and flaunts a 2.4″ touchscreen display. Fitted with a QWERTY keypad, this device accommodates a 3.2MP camera. Users can easily log into Facebook, CNN, Google Maps, a-GPS, PlayNow and avail of a media browser as also a SlideView feature on this The Cedar’s Widget Manager 2.0 ensures that the user’s favorite apps are just a click away. It also enables easy phonebook transfer and web backup.

Owners are offered a 2MP camera as well as a built-in FM radio with the Spiro handset. The Zylo integrates a 3.2MP camera and a 2.6″ screen. What’s more, FLAC files can be played back on the Zylo for an enjoyable music experience. Both these gadgets feature dedicated TrackID buttons, access to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace as well as the Walkman player.
Next in line is the Yendo Walkman handset attributed with a four corner interface and a 2.6″ display. It is the full touch handset in this particular series. Apart from the ten offered changeable color jackets and direct text capabilities to Twitter and Facebook, the handset will come with a 3.5mm stereo jack as well Bluetooth capabilities. Users can discover music through MediaGo, PlayNow and TrackID incorporated onto this phone.

The Aspen and Zylo are currently available for Rs. 16,754 and Rs. 9,000, respectively. The Cedar is expected to arrive in October for Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000 while the Yendo, slated for a September release, may cost anything between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 9,000. The Xperia X8 will be priced anywhere between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 16,000.
