LiMo Devices range expands with ELSE, NEC and Panasonic handsets

LiMo Foundation Logo LiMo Foundation announces the inclusion of new Limo compliant handsets from manufacturers ELSE, NEC, and Panasonic Mobile Communications. With these new handsets, the number of LiMo devices rises to fifty.

The new Limo models bring to users elegant and feature-rich devices which claim to combine next-generation functionality, reliability, sophisticated looks and advanced technologies. The devices bring to users keypad-to-touchpad conversion, high-megapixel auto-focus cameras, waterproofing and longer battery life for an engaging mobile experience.

“We welcome the arrival of these innovative new devices which attest to the richness and versatility of LiMo Platform,” said Morgan Gillis, executive director of the LiMo Foundation. “The continued growth of LiMo devices is further endorsement of LiMo’s vision, mission, and technologies.”

The new range of devices includes three NEC handsets for DoCoMo. To begin with, the docomo STYLE series N-01B is an elegantly designed handset in varying colors with a host of functionalities. The docomo PRIME series N-02B is a fully featured handset while the docomo STYLE series N-03B is a waterproofed and rugged device.

“These newest handsets demonstrate the effectiveness of the LiMo Platform as a springboard for innovation and differentiation in an increasingly crowded marketplace,” said Kiyohito Nagata of NTT DoCoMo, Chairman of LiMo Foundation. “The market-proven technologies found in the LiMo Platform represent unequaled opportunity for extended value for the entire mobile ecosystem – from operators to handset vendors to mobile consumers.”

The LiMo devices also include three models from Panasonic for NTT DoCoMo- docomo PRIME series P-01B, docomo STYLE series P-02B and docomo SMART series P-03B. The LiMo range will also include the ELSE INTUITION handset from ELSE Ltd. The pricing details are unclear.
