LG develops DLNA-based technology for Optimus 7 handset
Photography aficionados were lately seen rejoicing over the release of LG’s F8010N digital photo frame. Now, the company pampers entertainment enthusiasts with its new DLNA-based technology which is embedded into its Optimus 7 smartphone. Users can effortlessly share multimedia files on the offering and all DLNA complaint devices with the touch of a finger.
LG has crafted this novel sharing technology for enabling users to view, listen and share content by simply flicking their finger on the mobile phone. Owners can multitask and send files directly from the phone’s media galleries for simple usage. The need to exit the on-going application is eliminated with this latest installed feature.
“This unique feature is a direct response to the growing need for technologies that empower users to share multimedia content across electronic devices. LG Optimus 7 smartphones will be at the centre of a complete entertainment experience, representing LG’s leadership in mobile convergence,” remarked Seong-jin Park, Vice President of Mobile Handset R&D Centre at LG Electronics.
Wireless transfer of music files, high-resolution pictures, and 720p HD videos from the Optimus 7 smartphone to TV or home theatre system can be carried out using this media file-sharing technology. The company expects DLNA to set a new industry standard for home entertainment. Besides, LG has planned to demonstrate this sharing feature at IFA in Berlin, Germany.
The LG Optimus 7 handset incorporated with DLNA-based multimedia sharing technology is anticipated to be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
