HTC Evo 4G handst arrives on Sprint

HTC Evo 4G The wait is over for all those who have been eagerly anticipating a handset that offers the benefits of both 3G and 4G networks. The HTC Evo 4G smartphone has finally been released through Sprint. It is a feature packed device that comes pre-installed with the Qik Video Chat app which lets users interact with almost anyone, anywhere over its in-built front facing 1.3MP camera.

The phone is adorned by a 4.3” display and is integrated with Adobe Flash technology that exposes users to rich content from over the web like videos and animations. The handset is powered by Android 2.1 and offers access to over 50,000 apps in the Android Market.

It enables simultaneous voice and data capability through 4G or Wi-Fi networks with which users can access the web even during conversations. The pinch-to-zoom and automatic text reflowing makes it easy to view web pages. Sprint is extending various peripherals like the Travel Charger Plus, hands-free headsets and more to HTC Evo customers.

This smartphone lets users to search with pictures instead of words courtesy of the pre-loaded Google Goggles tool that works with everything from books, barcodes, logos, labels and so on. It integrates a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that ensures smoother and faster navigation within menus.

The Evo 4G is attributed with an 8MP AF camera that allows for recording of HD videos. 3G or 4G services can be shared by up to 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices such as cameras, laptops, music players and video games through the phone’s built-in mobile hotspot for $29.99 (approx Rs. 1,400) per month.

Users can share live videos shot through the phone’s HD video camera on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and the Qik Web site. Videos may be viewed on an HDTV through an HDMI cable that can be bought separately. The kickstand attached to the back of the device makes it easy to watch videos on the go.

It is offered with Sprint’s Everything Data or Business Advantage Messaging and Data plans with Any Mobile, Anytime. Users are required to subscribe to the Premium Data add-on at $10 (approx Rs. 470) per month. Sprint’s services for unlimited web surfing, texting and calling on their network with any mobile in America through the Everything Data 450 plan along with the Premium Data add costs $79.99 (approx Rs. 3,750) per month.

The HTC Evo 4G handset is available through Sprint stores, online at sprint.com, telesales and business direct. RadioShack, Best Buy and Walmart have also put up the handset for sale. Users can purchase the phone for $199.99 (approx Rs. 9,370) accompanied with a two year service agreement.
