Motorola extends its Ming series with three new Android smartphones

Country-specific features and Android power seem to be hiking way beyond its boundaries and well past the Great Wall of China. Motorola introduces three new Android smartphones to its acclaimed Ming series line-up fashioned exclusively for the terrain. These offerings namely MT810, XT806 and A1680 merge the enhanced Android touchscreen experience along with a Ming features. With these inclusions, the Motorola’s portfolio of Android devices in China now amounts to eleven which all released within the span of a year.

The MT810 is noted to be jointly unveiled with China Mobile, running on its OPhone OS 2.0 implementation of Android. Sporting a dual-touch system and 3.2-inch display, the handset includes a complete suite of pre-loaded intelligent business applications. Other features comprises of 720 x 480 video capture, powerful audio-video functionality, 720p HD video playback and support for China’s CMMB mobile television format.

The Internet-connected powerhouse device dubbed as the XT806 works on Android 2.1 and is brought to the forefront through Motorola and China Telecom. It also offers dual-mode/dual-standby support for CDMA EVDO and GSM as well as built-in mobile business application tools like Quicknotes. Also looked upon as a multimedia notebook, this mobile sports a transparent flip appearance along with a 3.2-inch screen with 300dpi display. The company also embeds this device with 720p HD video capture and playback capabilities as well as powerful GPS navigation services. Motorola’s SHOP4APPS can also be easily accessed through the product.

The final offering of the trio includes the likes of the A1680 which exuberates of the eleganance found with the MING heritage. Users can expect a 3.1 inch AMOLED touchscreen, touch capabilities, and support for China Unicom’s WCDMA network and WAPI and WIFI high-speed connectivity. It also boasts of intelligent handwriting recognition software from Motorola as well as a sixth-generation SoftStylus handwriting system. Additional attributes include a 5MP camera, GPS navigation services and access to Motorola’s SHOP4APPS.

The company hasn’t yet disclosed the official availability and pricing details of the three smartphones.
