With several manufacturers realizing the need of dual-SIM phones for busy users, Nokia doesn’t want to be left behind. According to the company’s official blog, Nokia has just added a new dual-SIM handset to its C series portfolio of mobile phones, the Nokia C2.

Responding to users’ demand for a handset running two active SIM cards at the same time, Nokia draws out this dual-SIM functionality. The handset’s first SIM card lies beneath the battery while the second SIM card is ‘hot-swappable’ which enables users to remove or insert the SIM card while the phone is on.

With this new offering, users will be able to receive or answer calls, send texts and answer one call while keeping the other on hold. In addition, users can now easily access their home and work account simultaneously. Designed to be stylish, the C2 features Ovi Life Tools which help users receive information covering healthcare, agriculture, education and entertainment. Its Ovi Mail allows users to access their email and chat accounts which can be pushed directly to the phone via Nokia Messaging.

The new Bluetooth-enabled phone includes GPRS and offers space for up to 1000 phonebook entries. For those who like to talk, its powerful battery offers a standby time of up to 16.5 days. Other highlighting features that make C2 a pack of entertainment include a VGA camera, FM radio and music player with expandable storage of up to 32GB supported by micro-SD cards. Apart from this, Nokia has drenched the phone in shades of grey, black, magenta, dark blue and white.

The Nokia C2 is anticipated to hit the shelves in the fourth quarter of this year. It will come with a price tag of €45 (approx Rs. 2,500) before subsidies and taxes.
