It’s not everyday that Philips comes up with a handset. Well, the company is all geared up to introduce its new handset. The specifications of this new Philips handset have been revealed, reports Ubergizmo. This new handset from Phillips is called the Philips Xenium K700.

Reportedly, the handset features a 2.8-inch TFT-LCD that flaunts 2,62,000 colors and a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels. The 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and video recording capability promises to capture all the special moments forever. The handset supports connectivity options like GSM, GPRS and EDGE.

The 1000mAh lithium ion battery provides a talktime of up to 8.5 hours and a standby time of up to one month. Measuring approximately 101mm x 52mm x 13mm, the K700 weighs around 97g. The file formats supported by the Xenium include RMBV, AVI, FLV, Divx, MP3, WMA, AC, FLAC and APE. The Philips K700 boasts of its 48MB of internal memory that can be further expanded by 8GB. The other notable features of the Philips Xenium include Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, FM-radio with RDS and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The pricing and availability details of the Philips Xenium K700 handset are yet to be disclosed. But considering the specs, we feel that the handset may be an option worth considering if competitively priced.
