Nvidia Tegra based smartphone coming in Q4 2009?
First the Zune HD and then the netbooks. Well, we are talking about the Nvidia Tegra chip. The rumor has it that the Tegra chip will now come integrated in a smartphone.
According to UnwiredView, The Street reports that a new Tegra powered smartphone may debut soon. Reportedly, the smartphone may feature Android OS.
Taking innovations to a higher level, the Tegra chip consumes low power and is capable of providing high-resolution 3D graphics.
The report also says that Mike Rayfield, the general manager of Nvidia’s mobile unit has said that the company will launch the phone through one of the renowned and leading mobile phone manufacturers, by the Q4 of 2009.
Nvidia will supposedly make available the Tegra chip to the phone manufacturers for a price of $30 per unit.
Well, it would be amazing to view 720p videos on smartphones. However, the features and high-end capabilities of the new, to be announced smartphone with Tegra chip are unclear.
Without speculating much, lets wait for an official announcement.
