RIM unveils BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone

RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone RIM has finally given the BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone an official introduction. Flaunting a host of hi-tech communication and multimedia features, the Bold is said to hold the interest of both men and women.

The 9700 delivers improved performance and advanced functionalities. Offering support for 3G HSDPA networks, this handset is powered by a 624MHz processor. The 256 MB Flash memory, built-in GPS and Wi-Fi further enhance the appeal of this handset. The Bold features a 3.2 megapixel camera that captures images with life-like colors.

“The BlackBerry Bold 9700 builds on the success of the original BlackBerry Bold with new, state-of-the-art features and a smaller, lighter and highly optimized design that looks, feels and performs great,” said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO, Research In Motion.

This sleek handset measures 4.29″ x 2.36″ x 0.56″ and weighs around 122g. A full QWERTY keyboard and a touch-sensitive trackpad adorn the visage of this handset. The media player of this handset is capable of playing videos as well as music. The other specifications include 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, access to BlackBerry App World, background noise suppression technology, speakerphone and support for Bluetooth 2.1.

The RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone is expected to be made available via various carriers from next month. The pricing for the Bold will vary according to the carriers.
