Virgin Kyocera X-tc and Jax Mobile Phones

Virgin Mobile has rolled out two new mobile phones from Kyocera Wireless, called the X-tc and the Jax, in the American market.

Claimed to be an entry-level phone, the X-tc features a sliding QWERTY keyboard that is an answer to all the messaging needs. Users can now chat on IM, access emails and send text messages without any typing hassles.

The network provider offers the X-tc phone without an annual contract on both Pay As You Go and Monthly Plans. Messaging lovers now get to choose from Virgin Mobile USA’s Monthly Plans that start from $24.99 with $10 Unlimited Messaging (TXT, PIC, IM, and E-mail) Packs.

Apart from that, the mobile phone also incorporates other elements such as a 1.3 megapixel camera, a large 2.4-inch TFT QVGA screen, Stereo Bluetooth and support for up to 8 GB microSD card. Moreover, it also features a phone book memory of 500 contacts and voice recognition to call them, a music player with dedicated music keys and playlist management, an internet surfing capability with direct links to key social networking sites.

Another phone in the kitty is the entry-level Jax handset that features a 128 x 160 pixels display, Web browser, text messaging and real music ringtones. It comes in a 13-mm thick candybar form factor. Sadly, not much is known about the phone’s detailed specifications.

Both the mobile phones are expected to reach the market for purchase in April 2009. The X-tc will be priced at $99.99 (approx. Rs. 5,130), however the Jax has no price tag as yet.
