Samsung announces i8910 HD and Omnia II full-touch mobile phones for Singapore

Samsung i8910HD Omnia 2 Following Samsung’s showcase of powerful touch mobile phones at CommunicAsia, the company is now gearing up to introduce a twin deal for its consumers in Singapore. Samsung made public the release of the Omnia II and the i8910 HD full touch mobile phones. Claimed to be loaded with fabulous applications, the handsets offer users a combination of multimedia and business performance.

Sporting the world’s largest 3.7-inch AMOLED screen the phones are unique in their own way. The i8910 HD claims to be the first Samsung Symbian full-touch handset with high quality HD video recording. The Omnia II on the other hand offers a highly customizable user interface with 3D effects. It also features touch-optimized usability that facilitates effortless multi-tasking for smartphone users.

The classy full-touch screen device i8910 HD features an AMOLED screen which offers crystal clear image clarity and sharpness in tones through its 16M color QHD display. Users can now enjoy high definition viewing and share real-time live videos on their phones. It is also equipped with 24fps@HD delivering a resolution of 1280 x 720p. This allows users to view and edit videos in high definition. Another attractive feature of the phone is the 8 mega-pixel camera which has Auto-focus, power LED flash, face detection, smile shot, blink shot and panorama shot.

The handset additionally has a Symbian S60 5.0 operating system and it supports different formats like DivX, Xvid, WMV, MPEG4 and RV with 24fps@HD video recording. The video feature enables its users to trim videos and perform functions like audio dubbing, live dubbing, add subtitle and image capture. It has an FM radio with a 3.5mm earjack and dual stereo speakers. The audio player supports formats like MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA and RA. It also has a Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a USB connectivity with 16GB Flash + External Memory slot with a Micro SDHC memory card compatibility which is extendable to 32GB. Moreover it has a battery life that offers a talk time of up to 10 hours and standby time of up to 650 hours.

Moving on from the success of the Omnia, Samsung also introduces the Omnia II which provides smart phone users with some more added applications to enhance their multimedia experience.

This phone also provides unbeatable screen clarity through its 3.7 inch AMOLED display which has an advanced R-type touch screen. It is extremely user friendly, much faster and shows better accuracy. Unlike the i8910 this smart phone is equipped with a 5 mega pixel camera and DVD-like video recording and playback. Users can also shoot and edit images by utilizing the in-suite editing application.

It supports high powered HSUPA 5.76Mbps, HSDPA 7.2Mbps and Wi-Fi. This helps users to experience quick and smooth internet browsing. It has an internal memory of 8GB and an external memory of 32GB.

The Samsung i8910 HD will be available from August 1, 2009 for approximately $1,098 while the Samsung Omnia II will be available from this weekend at a retail price of $898.
