HTC Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2 Mobile Phones Announced at MWC

HTC unveiled two new touchscreen mobile phones at MWC, namely the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2.
Both handsets from HTC Touch series are based on the company’s latest TouchFLO 3D interface that has been incorporated into a customized version of Windows Mobile 6.1.
The finger-touch friendly mobile phones work on Push Internet technology that enhances the slow downloading and rendering of Web pages on a mobile phone, ensuring outstanding internet browsing capability.
Successor of the HTC Touch Diamond, the compact HTC Touch Diamond2 includes a larger 3.2-inch high-resolution wide-screen VGA display, new touch-sensitive zoom bar for even faster zooming, 5 megapixel autofocus camera, gravity sensor, ambient light sensor and expandable memory.
As for the slider HTC Touch Pro2, the business-oriented phone features a high-resolution 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display, large finger-friendly QWERTY keyboard, touch-sensitive zoom bar with gravity, proximity and ambient light sensors. It offers improved battery life and expandable memory.
The phone packs in the new Straight Talk technology that boasts an innovative mechanical and acoustic design that features a sophisticated speakerphone experience similar to those found in corporate boardrooms.
“The HTC Touch Pro2 and HTC Touch Diamond2 introduce a mobile communication experience that simplifies how we communicate with people in our lives whether through voice, text or e-mail. HTC is delivering the latest, cutting-edge sophistication in a broad portfolio of mobile phones that improve how people live, work and communicate,” stated Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC Corp.
The HTC Touch Diamond2 is scheduled to hit the European and Asian markets in early Q2, followed by global launch by end of the year. The Touch Pro2 is expected to be rolled out worldwide in early summer.
