LG Viewty Smart Handset to land in UK

After making a huge hit in the web terrain during the official announcement, LG Viewty Smart is all set to enter the UK market for consumers to smartly capture photos by just a touch.

Also termed as the LG-GC900, the second-generation Viewty flaunts off its slim form factor and 8.0 megapixel camera, enabling users to elegantly focus on the art of photography. In order to augment the photographic capability, the stylish phone features the Intelligent Shot Mode that simplifies the process of capturing moments. It is capable of automatically and intuitively analyzing the surrounding environment that helps to make adjustment of the camera settings. All the camera functionalities promise to produce images that look exactly like what users’ see in reality.

Other highlights include 60 percent higher resolution over the 5 megapixel Viewty, LED flash and up to ISO 1600.

“LG brings its pioneering touch technology together with advanced camera phone features such as Intelligent Shot Mode, giving users smarter photos in a touch. With the Viewty Smart the phone does the thinking, allowing users to concentrate on capturing that unmissable moment, perfectly everytime,” explained Jeremy Newing, head of marketing, LG Mobile, UK.

Equipped with LG’s new 3D User Interface, the Viewty Smart has an onscreen selector, a dial to quickly switch to camera mode, a razor-sharp 3.0-inch WVGA touchscreen display and support for DivX or Xvid file formats to watch movies. In addition, the multimedia phone also ensures an enhanced video capability with the recording function that offers DVD-quality videos.

Inspite of so many features incorporated in a single device, the LG-GC900 is just 12.4 mm thick and weighs merely 102g.

LG plans to roll out the Viewty Smart in the UK region by this month. However, the price of the camera phone is not yet disclosed. With this announcement, the company has also revealed its plan to unveil a 12 megapixel camera phone with even more smart features by the end of 2009.
