T-Mobile UK confirms HTC Hero launch

T-Mobile G2 Touch T-Mobile has confirmed that HTC Hero will enter the UK market this month. According to Slashgear, T-Mobile will now call this phone the T-Mobile G2 Touch. Originally, the company had suggested calling this smartphone the G1 Touch but the idea was eventually dropped.

The Hero will now incorporate 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, GPS along with HTC’s new Sense UI system. T-Mobile has not revealed any plans for offering the Pink HTC Hero which we recently heard about.

T-Mobile USA has confirmed that it is not planning to provide the Hero. Reportedly, this confirmation was provided by Cole Brodman, CTO, T-Mobile at the launch of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G which is also known as the HTC Magic.

The company plans to offer the HTC Hero for free to those who sign a new 18-month contract. The tariff is expected to be one of the Flext schemes including a £40 monthly charge and a credit limit of £225.
