At the Fidelity Plaza in downtown Chicago, Samsung and Cricket have brought the world’s largest working mobile phone, which is a replica of Samsung Messager, in the limelight. Readers, this is not a conceptual or fabricated phone; it is a real working phone!
Measuring 11 x 15 feet, the humongous handset carries all the attributes of the Samsung Messager such as a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, MP3 player, support for various downloadable applications and games and microSD card slot.
Shinning in navy blue and green hues, the giant Samsung Messager offers multiple Bluetooth profiles that allow users to activate stereo Bluetooth and transfer files with ease.
Besides, a Guinness World Records representative is also said to be in attendance at the event to officially state the record-breaking phone. Danny Girton, Jr., Guinness World Records adjudication executive, stated, “We are excited to recognize the world’s largest working cell phone from Cricket and Samsung Mobile as a new Guinness World Record. As this was a successful first record attempt, it is a tremendous accomplishment and we are delighted to welcome them into the Guinness World Records family.”
