Cricket to launch Motorola Evoke QA4 phone

After the Motorola Hint QA30, Cricket Communications is all set to launch the Motorola Evoke QA4. This entrant into the touchscreen phone arena packs in quality features.
The phone’s 2.8-inch full touchscreen along with full touchscreen keyboard and slide out traditional numeric keypad, lets users take advantage of its texting and web browsing capabilities.
The home screen displays the web information that can be customized with integrated widget and personalized RSS feeds. Evoke’s full HTML browser can be effortlessly used with Cricket’s 3G EVDO network.
“When our customers ask us for a “smartphone” what they really want is access to personal email, fast Web browsing, great multimedia features and a cool phone form factor. Cricket has worked closely with Motorola to deliver the Evoke and the recently launched Motorola Hint QA30 devices that fit the desires of our customers but at a much more affordable price and no expensive service contract,” said Jeff Toig, vice president of product marketing for Cricket. “In addition, Cricket’s 3G EVDO network allows our customers to take full advantage of Evoke’s many capabilities and features.”
Evoke can be customized using widgets that offer real-time access to important information like Google Web Search, MySpace, YouTube, Picasa, weather forecasts and customizable RSS feeds.
Cricket customers can effortlessly upload pictures as well as videos to social networking sites using the integrated 2 MP camera/camcorder.
“We designed the Motorola Evoke to give consumers multiple ways to stay in touch, whether they prefer IM-style texting, mobile blogging or simply a phone call to keep up with friends and family,” said Dan Papalia, vice president, Motorola Mobile Devices. “With Cricket’s 3G network, customers can get instant gratification with real Web browsing, RSS feeds, one-click social networking and more.”
Some other attributes include integrated music player and microSD card slot, stereo Bluetooth, preloaded BREW games and more.
Motorola Evoke carries a price tag worth $299.99 and is available through mycricket.com. It will soon be available through Cricket’s retail stores and dealers.
