Gone are the days where everything was accessed by the Click of a button. That was a past concept. Now, everything can be got by only a Touch. With a mere touch, one can access a whole host of actions like surfing the net, checking mails, sending sms, playing games to name a few. Samsung’s two latest mobile phones – S5600 and the S5230 are expected to take the touch-screen world by storm.

By the launch of these two models, Samsung has enhanced its position as a leading player in the popular touch-screen market and hopes to have an upper edge amongst the sea of competitors. The Samsung S5600 and S5230 promises to enthrall and entice the users with its varied features.

“Samsung S5600 and S5230 are significant products to our full touch screen mobile portfolio, bringing stylish designs and intuitive user interfaces.” stated Executive vice-president and head of Mobile communications divisions at Samsung Electronics, JK Shin.

He further added, “We are committed by strengthening our portfolio of full touch phones by introducing a variety of handsets to suit every lifestyle. These two new products will bring the exciting experience of touch to mobile phone users and will further enhance Samsung’s leadership in the full-touch markets.”

Samsung S5600

Owing to its slim and compact design, the Samsung S5600 attracts style-conscious customers. This sleek piece is packed with a whole lot of fascinating multi-media features which the users are bound to be bowled over with and enjoy every bit of it.

To begin with, it has a 2.8 inch QVGA full-touch screen and uses the TouchWhiz User Interface which allows you to customize and personalize your mobile phone to your convenience. Easy one-click access to your favorite applications is achieved by dragging and placing Mobile widgets onto the main screen.

One main advantage of the full-touch screen is the ‘Gesture Lock’. When enabled, this feature allows the user to unlock the phone and gain access to the menu directly by just drawing a letter of the alphabet on the screen. Each menu corresponds to a letter from A to Z, which is designated to them according to the user’s choice.

Equipped with an accelerometer sensor for auto rotation, internet browsing is made possible and with its 7.2 Mbps connectivity, it takes mobile internet surfing to a whole new level.

The Camera and Music are two of the main features one is fond of using in a mobile and the Samsung S5600 promises not to disappoint on that front. It has the latest 3 mega-pixel digital camera with features such as Smile Shot. In the music department, it has Shazam’s ‘Find Music’ service. Users can find virtually any song of their choice at anytime. File format conversions are not necessary as this mobile supports H.263, MPEG4 and WMV. FM radio is also enabled. This handset has a memory of 80MB and micro SD slot up to 8GB.

The Samsung S5600 will be available from May in European countries.

Samsung S5230

This slim and compact body measures a mere 11.9mm and has a 3.0 inch WQVGA full-touch screen. Like the Samsung S5600, this Samsung piece too has TouchWhiz user interface with Mobile Widgets. It boasts of various useful features such as the 3 mega-pixel camera and video recording supporting QVGA @ 15fps. It supports multi-format and DNSe for better sound quality. Incorporated into the phone is Shazam’s ‘Find Music’ service and the Samsung S5230 also has a 50MB memory capacity with an external memory slot of up to 8GB.

Convenient and easy to use, this mobile supports a QWERTY soft keyboard, ‘Gesture Lock’ and handwriting features. For effective internet browsing, accelerometer sensor for auto rotation is enabled. Also, users can call a contact by just clicking on the image assigned to that particular contact. FM radio with RDS can also be found in this mobile phone.

The Samsung S5230 will be available from April in France and other European countries.
