Keeping the recession period in mind, Nokia announces the launch of its new economically-priced mobile phone, called the Nokia 1661, at the CTIA 2009. With this, the company also presents the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-216 and Nokia Speakerphone HF-510 at the event.

Let’s us begin with the very basic Nokia 1661. Being a low-end handset, the Nokia 1661 comes incorporated with entry-level specifications. It features a dual-band GSM radio on-board, a 1.8-inch screen with 128×160 pixels of resolution, FM radio and a battery that offers up to 8 hours of talk-time and up to 624 hours of standby time.

Moreover, the inclusion of speakerphone and flashlight ensures multitasking and illuminated environment. The utility device also has two pre-installed games such as Sudoku and Mobile Soccer for users to refresh themselves.

With no pricing details, the Nokia 1661 mobile phone is expected to reach the American market by end of this month via T-Mobile USA.

Besides, two new accessories such as the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-216 and the Nokia Speakerphone HF-510 have also made their market presence for consumers to multitask with their mobile phones.

Boasting a comfortable and curved form factor, the BH-216 allows handsfree calling even in the noisiest of environments. Whereas, another handsfree calling option is the HF-510 that assures high-quality conversation with echo and noise reduction. The HF-510 in-vehicle suction cup speaker phone comes in-built with DSP to eliminate unwanted background noise.

While the Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-216 is scheduled to hit the US shelves by Q3 2009 for $39.99 (approx. Rs. 1,995), the Nokia Speakerphone HF-510 can be purchased for $99.95 (approx. Rs. 4,990) in the coming months.
