Pharos Traveler 137 Smartphone

Pharos has unveiled its latest smartphone called the Traveler 137, reports CnetNews. This GPS smartphone made its debut at the CES this year.

The device focuses on improving the GPS abilities via integrated assisted-GPS and hybrid navigation software that is independent of the carrier network. The turn-by-turn navigation and voice prompts enable users to find their way easily through unfamiliar streets. The smartphone features Windows Mobile 6.1 professional operating system and can be upgraded to version 6.5.

The handset includes 800 x 480 touchscreen that occupies majority of the front side of the device along with various navigation buttons. For clicking pictures and recording videos, the Traveler features a 3 megapixel camera. A 0.3 megapixel camera on the front of the device is useful for video conferencing.

Along with 256GB RAM and 512MN flash ROM, the Traveler137 also features microSD/SDHC slot that allows further expansion of the storage capacity. The Pharos smartphone features support for quad-band GSM, EDGE, tri-band 3G, UMTS, 7.2Mb/s HSDPA and 2Mb/s HSUPA.

The Pharos Traveler 137 is now available for purchase via AT&T and T-Mobile. The phone will be available for purchase at a starting price of $600 (approx. Rs.28, 255) without any contract and for $350 (approx. Rs.16, 460) after a two year contract with T-Mobile.
