Motorola unveils i365IS – an intrinsically safe mobile phone
Built to take advantage of Sprint’s Push to talk technology, Motorola presents a new mobile phone called the i365IS. The mobile phone is touted to be an intrinsically safe device.
The Motorola i365IS phone is said to have a very minute chance of releasing thermal or electrical energy that can ignite a fuel to cause an explosion or fire. The phone is considered to be safe when used with IS battery in explosive atmospheres. The phone sports a display screen of 130 x 130 resolution and has the ability to deliver 64k vibrant colors.
The Motorola i365IS allows users to immediately reach out to everyone in a group with its advanced Emergency Group Call feature. The phone indicates the emergency calls by a special emergency tone which ensures that the call has priority over other calls. It features an Isolated Site Operation feature that lets users talk even if the connection is lost using the last hub. The handset meets the US military standard specifications and can withstand rain, dust, shock, vibration and humidity.
The Motorola i65IS phone sports navigation options like audio and visual turn-by-turn directions and location-mapping that will help users to find their destination. It also equips a wireless Bluetooth headset that allows users to communicate wirelessly over a short range.
Additionally, it packs in various functions offered by NexTel Direct Connect such as Group Connect, International Direct Connect SM, Direct TalkSM, Direct Connect and NextMail.
There is no word for the exact date of availability and price for the phone.
