Nokia redefines social networking with the Nokia N97 mini

The most awaited Nokia world was held today. This event witnessed the launch of the most rumored Nokia N97 mini. Along with this handset, Nokia has also released a new service called Lifecasting that claims to redefine the way people connect to each other. The company also plans to release a software update for the original N97in October.

Nokia has teamed up with Ovi and Fcebook to provide the lifecasting service to their users. This application will allow users to publish their location and status updates on Facebook directly from the homescreen of their handset. This service claims that it will allow users to stay connected to their friends and loved ones. The Lifecasting service will initially be made available with the Nokia N97 mini and later with the original Nokia N97 via Beta Labs.

The Nokia N97 mini is successor of the Nokia N97. It has been specifically designed to suit the needs of today’s social and style conscious consumers. The appeal of this phone lies in its stylish stainless steel cues, tilting 3.2-inch touch display and full QWERTY keyboard. The customizable homescreen of this handset allows users to add their personal touch to this handset. The device promises to deliver a truly personal internet experience. The compact body and iconic design of this handset further adds to the appeal of this handset.

The Nokia N97 mini features new software that will be released as a free update for the Nokia N97 by next month. This new software promises to deliver compelling new experiences to both devices. The software includes new homescreen widgets and additional usability improvements like flick scrolling. The Nokia N97 mini also offers support for Ovi Maps.

The Nokia N97 mini will allow users to access the Ovi store and download various applications. These applications assist users in customizing the homescreen of the handset according to their preferences. The Nokia N97 mini will start shipping this October and will retail for around €450 (approx. Rs. 31,385).
