Nokia E72 full QWERTY handset launched in India

Nokia E72 Nokia unfurled the newest Eseries offering crafted for business and personal messaging, the Nokia E72. Delving to offer desktop-like, mobile email experience, this full QWERTY smartphone promises to serve as an ideal device for elevating productivity in both professional and personal lives.

The Nokia E72 features push consumer email service, Nokia Messaging and onboard clients for Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler. To further enhance the mobile email experience, it allows effortless access to Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Windows Live Hotmail, Ovi Mail and other email service providers through an on-device email setup.

On the launch Vineet Taneja, Marketing Director, Nokia India said, “Today consumers are looking for solutions that give them flexibility to manage time in a way that they can juggle and balance both work and life. They are looking for ways to connect with their friends and peers while on the go which has led to proliferation of email on mobile. According to a research conducted by Nokia, globally people are spending an average of five full days per year – equivalent to a full work week – responding to emails. Close to half of the consumers (46 percent) choose email over voice or text to send and receive important information.”

The high points of the Nokia E72 are easy setup of business and personal email with PC-like interface, new optical Navi key for easier scrolling through menu, emails, internet browser, maps and images, and 5Mpix autofocus camera. The noise cancellation functionality lets users go chatty without any unwanted noise. It also enables quicker mobile broadband connectivity over HSPA and WLAN.

He further added, “With the latest Nokia E72, consumers will be able to accommodate multiple work and personal email accounts and, with separate profiles for work and play, which will allow people to be flexible when it comes to choosing how, when, where and who to respond to.”

The E72 is built of quality stainless steel and aluminum. It has built-in 250MB storage capacity, in-box 8GB microSD card and supports up to 16GB. With upgraded office capabilities, the device features a new version of Quickoffice, offering compatibility with Microsoft Office 2007 and free version upgrades as well. The feature-set also includes A-GPS and compass with integrated maps.

Dressed in Zodium Black and Topaz Brown, the Nokia E72 will be available in the Indian market starting today for a price of Rs. 22,989.
