Softbank to Sell iPhone 3G for $215 in Japan

iPhone 3G, Softbank The most-anticipated mobile phone has finally made its presence. The company has finally announced that it will slowly and steadily reach most of the countries in the world. Recently, Apple officially announced the plan to launch iPhone 3G in Germany for as low as 1 Euro. The next country in the row is Japan.

An exclusive dealer of iPhone – Japan-based Softbank Mobile, has announced the release date and the price of the iPhone 3G. It would be available from 11th July for 23,040 yen, which converts to 9,150 INR (8 GB), wherein the consumers have to subscribe for service plans that start at $68 and include unlimited data transmissions. Softbank assures that consumers will get to talk for free with other Softbank users.

Coming to the 16GB version, the Apple’s touch-screen phone would sell for 34,560 yen (approx. Rs. 13,725), which is quite expensive than the 8 GB model.

An instant evaporating situation is what Softbanks’s CEO Masayoshi Son is predicting as soon as the revolutionary phone makes its presence in the Japanese market. At the same time, Son also mentions that the supplies are likely to be scarce for a while.

Priced at $199 (approx. Rs. 8,560), the 3G iPhone is coming in about two weeks in the U.S. The price of the new 3g phone is half the price as compared to its predecessor.
