BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphone to be launched in the US by Alltel
In the beginning of this month, RIM had released the BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone via Verizon. Now, the company announces the availability of its very popular BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphones in the American market through leading network operator, Alltel Wireless.
The sleek titanium-colored smartphone comes equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, video recording capability, GPS functionality like Alltel Navigation, hi-speed USB to transfer large files quickly and conveniently, media player and is microSD/SDHC memory slot compliant.
RIM’s famous communication features, such as trackball navigation system and Alltel’s high-speed EVDO network, deliver outstanding connectivity and productivity while allowing users to access personal or corporate e-mail services while on the run.
“Customers have asked for a phone that provides functionality and helps them maintain their efficiency and connectivity whether on the road or at home,” said Brian Ullem, vice president of device strategy at Alltel Wireless. “The BlackBerry Curve 8330 fits these needs and gives both our professional and personal customers a broad multi-media experience that complements their active lives.”
Besides, the smallest full-QWERTY smartphone includes voice-activated dialing, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities as well as other special features like Digby to shop online, download content from RealTone Juke Box and Bplay, the Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones application and much more.
It also supports Alltel’s Axcess Voice2TXT service, which can convert incoming voicemails to text messages in the subscriber’s inbox and even store, reply and forward converted voicemails as regular text messages.
Currently available for pre-oder, Alltel will roll out the BlackBerry Curve 8330 smartphone on 1st May 2008 at the suggested price of $299.99 (approx. Rs. 12,000) after a $100.00 mail in rebate.
