Samsung E200 Eco Phone Introduced

Samsung, Official Wireless Communications Partner of the Olympic Games, has announced the launch of its eco-phone, called the E200 Eco at the Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung event in Beijing.
Developed by Cheil Industries – a company that is part of the Samsung Group, the slider phone has made use of bio-plastic for the E200 Eco’s external case to lower its carbon footprint. Further, the eco-friendly handset comes packed in a recycled paper box that eliminates the use of any glossy coatings.
In terms of features, Samsung E200 Eco phone comes equipped with an MP3 player, video messaging capabilities and a 1.3-megapixel camera.
The company has also introduced two other environmentally friendly mobile phones, namely the W510 and F268. The F268 phone and its accessories are the first that do not contain any Brominated Flame Retardants or PVCs. The included alarm function alerts users to unplug the phone once the battery is fully charged. The F268 and E200 Eco along with their chargers are said to be free of a common flame retardant that can harm the environment.
Samsung has planned to release the E200 Eco mobile phone in Europe in early September. However, price detail is still unannounced.
