Nuance Communications Unveils T9 Nav to access Mobile Phone Menus Quickly, in India

Nuance T9 Nav Supplier of speech, smart keypad and imaging solutions, Nuance Communications, has announced the launch of its latest mobile phone solution in the Indian market. Known as T9 Nav, this tool enables phone users to make use of various features, applications and content on the handset by just punching few keys.

Nuance’s newest solution is not restricted to mobile phones. It also extends to office automation, personal navigation devices and consumer electronics. Its main purpose is to turn the complex function into simple operation. Consumers can avoid button-driven menu systems that are usually supported by complex key combinations. This would help them to operate the handset quickly, directly and frequently.

By using the industry leading, patented algorithms from T9/XT9 software, the T9 Nav has the ability to sharply adjust to users’ behavior over time, shuffling and calculating commonly searched terms. This application can access and discover even the most advanced mobile applications and content – regardless of the technical know-how, location, environment or physical and literacy capabilities.

Sunny Rao, General Manager, Nuance Communications – ASEAN & India, commented, “As mobile phones get more complex, data storage capabilities are increasing. Additionally, the proliferation of phone features requires a robust retrieval system to access and manage content. Users are often confused by complex menu navigation and cannot easily find and identify specific device features and mobile content to download – and many mobile carriers have identified that this is an obstacle to greater data service uptake and growth.” He further added that “T9 Nav addresses this critical problem faced by the carriers’ subscribers, and we have brought to the market mobile search and discovery that is fast and simple, efficient, flexible and adaptable to the user.”

T9 Nav will not change the look or the user-interface of the phone. In fact, it will work alongside the performance and menu areas on the phone look by placing all menu areas just a couple of clicks away from the idle screen. For instance, typing “m-a” (i.e., “3-2″) from the home screen of the phone can take the user directly to a mapping application, a Madonna ringtone, a contact named “Mary” or any other content, contacts or device features beginning with those letters.

It supports Nokia installer window where a Symbian S60 Third Edition handset can easily install the application. Visit the official site of T9 Nav for installation.
