MWg announces Atom V and Zinc II Mobile Phones for the Indian Market

A new Singapore-based company has entered the Indian market and has debuted in the mobile phone industry with the launch of Atom V and Zinc II. Mobile and Wireless Group (MWg) plans to target at both professionals and entertainment-oriented consumers. The MWg Atom V works on touchscreen interface, whereas the MWg Zinc II has a sliding keyboard.

Both the handsets run on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional at a speed of 500 MHz and come pre-loaded with GPS capabilities and 2.8-inch LCD screen. The company stated that the Zinc II and Atom V mobile phone have a lot of common features.

The Atom V handset features a 2.0 megapixels camera with auto focus, FM radio, RDS (Radio Data System), an in-built SiRF Star-III GPS chipset, high speed 3.5G HSDPA and onboard Wi-Fi to stay connected. The embedded scroll wheel and four buttons ensure an easy and convenient operation.

It comes with a slim profile of 14.95mm and wears a midnight blue hue. It also provides an outstanding phone operation of up to 3.5 hours talk time, or 150 hours standby time.

In the slider MWg Zinc II mobile phone, the company has added a unique and easy-to-use touch-driven interface – Quick Menu – to easily tap large graphic icons with their fingertips. They can even flip between menus by dragging their finger across the screen, similar to the iPhone. This functionality also enables users to navigate the device without a stylus and customize the icons and menus.

On sliding out, the handset reveals its QWERTY keyboard that helps to gain access to e-mail, texting and internet browsing.

TouchIndia Telemarketing Pvt. Ltd. has released the MWg Zinc II phone for Rs 34,888 and the MWg Atom V with a price tag of Rs 27,888.
