iPod Touch makes VoIP calls for free by Truphone

A free software called Truphone for iPod Touch is available at Apple’s App Store for iPod Touch owners that effectively transform the device into a mobile phone.

It allows iPod Touch users to call other iPod touch owners, customers of Truphone’s Internet telephony service and to users of the Google Talk instant messaging service.

Supporting iPod touch’s Wi-Fi connection, users can access free instant messaging to Skype and MSN, call other Skype and MSN users, check and set facilities for Twitter and Facebook.

Users just need to install the Truphone application and pair the iPod Touch with a microphone adaptor, users can then punch in the numbers via a virtual keyboard to make calls.

Truphone also offers a microphone adaptor accessory for users to converse with ease.
