HDFC Bank and ngpay allow Fund Transfer via Mobile Phones
Mobile devices have made life so much better and easy-going. Earlier e-commerce, e-banking and e-bill were in power. But now there is a change in priorities. The m-commerce, m-banking and m-bill have taken the seat of power.
Pay your bills, make money transactions possible with the help of your daily communication tool – the mobile phone. HDFC bank and ngpay, JiGrahak Mobility Solution’s a mobile solution brand, have announced their joint venture to enable fund transfers, ranging from banking to commerce services. All you need to do is press few buttons and enjoy all the necessary facilities.
To access ngpay application, you should have a GPRS-equipped handset to send an SMS. It is not only restricted to banking, but also allows you to book tickets of movie, air, rail and bus along with shopping and making payments.
According to HDFC Bank Country Head – Retail Liabilities, Marketing and Direct Banking Channels Rahul Bhagat, customers are expected to get account statements, enquire about cheque status, send cheque book requests, get fixed deposit enquiry and transfer fund to any HDFC or any other non-HDFC bank account holder using the ngpay platform.
It is believed that money transfer between two HDFC Bank accounts will take place quickly, whereas the process of fund transferring between a non-HDFC Bank account would happen in 48 hours.
Bhagat continued, “It has always been our endeavour to offer our customers convenience using innovation through technology. By adding fund transfer to the existing bouquet of banking transactions and shopping, HDFC Bank now offers a complete suite of transactions and options through the mobile phone in a fully secured environment.”
Sourabh Jain, Chief Executive Officer, ngpay, commented, “ngpay has proven that customers will be comfortable completing financial and commerce transactions over the mobile if they are given a convenient, secure and easy-to-use experience. The convenience and utility to HDFC Bank customers will continue to increase as new services and partners are added on ngpay.”
ngpay is free and works across most telecom networks. The application claims to be a certified financial grade security.
